According to Statista, a global data and business intelligence company, consumers in Central African Republic (CAR) paid the highest price for gasoline in Africa as of August 2023. One litre of the fuel cost on average 1.83 U.S. dollars in the country. In Senegal, the retail price for gasoline octane-95 reached on average 1.65 U.S. dollars per litre, the second highest in the continent. Comparatively, when the fuel prices are arranged in descending order, Zambia ranked 17th with the average retail price for gasoline standing at 1.32 U.S. dollars per litre.
